100/100: TOP VIDEOS of the whole project PLUS all 100 videos RATED & REVIEWED!

100/100: I picked my favorites and shared them with you. I also went through and rated, and reviewed each video. Please watch the A-, A, & A+ videos…. Anything B- and below is probably a ‘filler’ video
and not my best foot forward.

100 videos playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC6DCD6560CEE639B

BEST ORIGINAL SONG 1st place- 87/100: Amends Official Music Video. Back to back days of A+ stuff. I love everything about this song, the story, the collaboration, Paul’s directing and vision. If you watch one video out of this whole project, please let it be this one. A+

BEST ORIGINAL SONG 2nd place – 86/100: Sleeping in original song – This is perhaps the top 1 or 2 best production quality in the entire project. I’m really proud of this song, lyrics, delivery, and sound quality. It was also written for my lady for our anniversary. So all of that equals a pretty special video to me. A+

BEST ORIGINAL SONG 3rd place- 79/100: My beard is a boss original – Boom. Loved this little uke tune. One of my favorite silly songs in the project. A

BEST VLOG 1st place- 89/100: Rant vlog – I loved this video too.. easily the best 4 day stretch in the project, and it was interesting how people responded to the ‘threat’ of being unfriended. Maybe the best vlog out of the project. A

BEST VLOG 2nd place 44/100: Paul & David talk band names – These vlogs with my cousin were some of my favorites to make, I think this one was one of the better ones we did. A-

BEST VLOG 3rd place – 48/100: SXSW advice: This little series was cool because I was on tour for a week and in one day did about 7 days worth of videos in vlog form. This particular video marks a shift in my musical focus. I think this whole ‘chats in the van’ series was pretty comfortable. I think these are some of the more interesting and well stated vlogs I have to date. A -

BEST COVER 1st place- 78/100: Lionhearted cover – I think I sang this one pretty well and the editing is above average for the project. A-

BEST COVER 2nd place – 42/100: Regulators – Warren G cover – Yeah, it always goes over well, live or on Youtube.
Awesome. It’s good to throwback and reminisce for a couple minutes. A-

BEST COVER 3rd place – 9/100: Kinks cover – Boom. Loved this one. Experimented with different colors too for fun.
Wish I had full drums for this one though. A-

BEST CAMEO AWARD: Joe Gamble. 31/100: Itsy Bitsy Spider – Late night Joe Gamble after a gig…In rare form. A-

EVERY VIDEO REVIEWED IN ORDER:
1/100: Intro video. Not bad, not groundbreaking. B
2/ 100: Inside – original tune. Kinda jack johnson-y, but it was a fuller sounding song and I did like the bass, snare and stick clicks in this song. B
3/100: Red Hot Chili Peppers cover – Raindance maggie is just a sweet song for bass. Pretty straight forward bass cover. B
4/100: First – original tune. Mellow acoustic, the song was loosely based on my own mom. The production of this song I remember being pretty happy with. One of my more favorite song ideas to come out of this 100 day project. A-
5/100: Journal entry about my mom – Personal subject. I liked the video idea where you could only see out the window, and the rest was pretty dark. Seemed appropriate. B+
6/100: Onward – original tune – Not the best I’ve played that song. It will be on an upcoming EP, and I hope it’s performed better than that. C+
7/100: Card trick – I love this card trick, it’s a slight of hand. The video itself is pretty lame though. Only watch if you want to learn a trick, don’t judge my crappy-didn’t-have-time-for-a-video-today type video. B-
8/100: Common Misconceptions – Right idea, poor execution. The audio was way too loud and distorted on this one. Whoops. At least the effort was there that day. B
BEST COVER 3rd place – 9/100: Kinks cover – Boom. Loved this one. Experimented with different colors too for fun. Wish I had full drums for this one. A-
10/100: Wrecked Wheelhouse promo. Meh This was filler. C
11/100: Book club intro. I didn’t do any of these very well. It was an idea, but it just wasn’t my bag. Oh well. C
12/100: Paradise bass cover. My hard drive crashed early in this project and I lost about 7 videos that I had already banked. This was one I found on my external hard drive and never had posted it. It looks out of place because only parts of it were supposed to be used for a big You Tube thing w/ tons of YTers and Coldplay. C-
13/100: Journal explaining my HD crashing nightmare. Poor me. I actually had to rematch this one because I didn’t remember it. I think this is Joe Gamble’s debut in the project. He makes the intro of that video pretty funny. I pretty much whine about losing the videos I had done, and having to borrow equipment to keep the project again. It’s not a bad video, but it’s not terribly interesting either… B-
14/100: Nightmare original tune for spintunes songwriting contest – Not too bad. It’s worth a watch I think. B+
15/100: Bastard original tune for spintunes songwriting contest – Also not too bad, a little repetitive, but full sounding song idea demo thing. B
16/100: New Glarus tour – Touring the brewery is way better in person. Obviously. Kind of a filler video. C
17/100: Book Club pt 1 didn’t do any of these very well. It was an idea, but it just wasn’t my bag. Oh well. C
18/100: Saturday Football clips: I’m a little bias to these because I love playing football. It’s probably not very interesting if you weren’t playing that day. But I think as a video is concerned, it’s edited pretty well, and you can see a few good catches by myself and many others MPLS natives, COME OUT AND JOIN US IF YOU LIVE IN MPLS! :) B+
19/100: How to change a bass string: I actually liked this one. It was another video I never posted and had for a while. I edited the footage I had, and it turned out alright. B
20/100: See day 17 or 11
21/100: Settlers of Catan Part 1 – These videos turned out alright. I think they are a little stuffy and not entertaining at all, but I do think the strategy presented is sound and it is told in a clear and effective way. B+
22/100: Interview w/ David E. pt 1 – I thought these videos were very interesting for content creators like myself. I think if you have an interest in optimizing your online content for better search results, David Erickson of Tunheim is a good resource! B+
23/100: Seven Letters original tune for spintunes songwriting contest: Pretty decent rock and roll tune. I was proud of the lyrics because I was only allowed to use words that started with one of 7 letters. I moved on to the final round because of this song, and through the first 3 rounds got really good reviews from the judges. Those made my day. A-
24/100: See day 20.
25/100: See day 21.
26/100: See day 22.
27/100: Learn to play Eqyptian Rat Screw – Meh – filler video. Not all that great. C-
28/100: David’s Videos Skit – This one features members from one of my bands. We thought it was hilarious, it probably isn’t. One of my favorites to make. B+
29/100: Voicemail. I like this idea. Watching a video of a voicemail. With the bad audio and nothing to look at. It’s like listening to someone with your eyes closed. It forces you to pay closer attention. B+
30/100: Sand original tune – I liked this one a lot. I loved the weird bass intro thing to start the song off. I was also sicker than hell and it took forever to get keep vocal takes. Cool abstract lyrics too. A
31/100: Itsy Bitsy Spider – Joe Gamble. ’nuff said. A-
32/100: You’re Older Now – Original tune. Not bad. Decent fuller sounding song idea. Needs to be worked on more but there might be something there. B+
33/100: Help write a song – Terrible. I didn’t even want to rewatch this. I was strapped for time and it’s 10 minutes of not much. Don’t watch this. D+
34/100: I tell a joke. Cool. Filler. Boo. C
35/100: I want your opinion – personal situation. This video stands out to me, because I think I put in the title, “personal situation” and “I want your opinion” This video got a lot more views and responses than I expected. People like to know about other peoples personal situations, and comment on them, apparently. lol. It’s an interesting topic though. A-
36/100: Response video to 35. – Same thang, but only interesting if you thought 35 was. B
37/100: Fear – original rap song for spintunes songwriting contest. So i went out on a limb and tried a rap song. Out of the final 4 contestants, I got 4th. lol. I do pride myself on having entered 4 songs that sounded nothing alike and still managed to make it to the final round. I do like some of the words in this song, and the challenge was to write a song using nothing but sounds that your body can make… It also said to have more focus on things other than your voice. I interpreted the rules to be that I could really only make a beat, but that might have been my downfall for this one. B+
38/100: 5’2″ 6’3″ original UKE song – I lost the original video to this song in the HD crash, but my cousin Paul got a new camera and wanted to do a video for me. This was our first collaboration and I was pretty darn happy with it. I like the silly words, and I think the melody is pretty catchy for a uke song, and the video looks great! Give it a watch if you like nerdy uke songs! A
39/100: Friends and Jokes. – Self explanatory. It was aiiightt. B-
40/100: Hard days night w/ Elise Lieberth – Filmed by rebexington. This video just reminds me of hanging with other cool youtubers. The song itself almost derails, but it turned out simple and fun. B
41/100: Snow storm vlog – Had to rematch this one, because it wasn’t memorable I suppose. A little tour vlog I guess. Lots of beats and snow. It does show what we had to drive through and it was pretty freaky. B-
BEST COVER 2nd place – 42/100: Regulators – Warren G cover – Yeah, it always goes over well, live or on Youtube. Awesome. It’s good to throwback and reminisce for a couple minutes. A-
43/100: Radiohead. Obviously GOING to radiohead was a highlight. The recording on my camera turned out really well also! I was very pleased to have this video to remember the occasion. A-
BEST VLOG 2nd place 44/100: Paul & David talk band names – These vlogs with my cousin were some of my favorites to make, I think this one was one of the better ones we did. A-
45/100: Blister in the sun – I do this song in cover bands, it sounded lame on acoustic. whatever it was a filler. B-
46/100: Montel Jordan this is how we do it cover – see day 45.
47/100: My SXSW recap. The video itself is aiiigghhhtt. It was more a personal journal thang so i’d remember what I did at SXSW 2012. B
BEST VLOG 2nd place – 48/100: SXSW advice: This little series was cool because I was on tour for a week and in one day did about 7 days worth of videos in vlog form. This particular video marks a shift in my musical focus. I think this whole ‘chats in the van’ series was pretty comfortable. I think these are some of the more interesting and well stated vlogs I have to date. A -
49/100: See day 48
50/100: Cool. I met Julia Nunes. She is why I am on youtube. Yay. B
51-56: They are all cousin topics to each other and were all recorded at the same time pretty much. SXSW 2012 made me think a lot and most of it was captured in this vlog type journal hour for myself. I think these
57/100: HITMAN – original tune. I dig this one. Very Placebo, very groove. I like it. I love the lyrics too. Obviously a better production value could take this song to exponential levels. Song ideas like this are why I wanted to do this project. Check it out. A
58/100: Flamethrower acoustic song original- I wrote this song for my band The Less Complex. Some people really liked it. It’s pretty alright. Way better with drums though. A-
59/100: Post sxsw reflections. Meh. Mediocre vlog. B-
60/100: Lean on Me cover – Kay Stresman lends her voice. It was a great time learning and making this video with her! B+
61/100: Lockout – original song. I love the words to this song. The video is aiighht. It’s live so… yeah. B-
62/100: TLC live. My band can get a crowd going. Filler video. B-
63/100: New band song – Wow that week was a lot of filler videos. I had a lot going on that week w/ lots of different band practices, work and what not… the audio isn’t too bad though. B
64/100: Laying down some bass for Mo from Me and My Arrow – Filler video, but Mo is such a cool dude. B-
66&65/100: Flamethrower and Mr. American Man. Good songs, recorded on my camera. B because i like the songs.
67/100: Flagpole Sitta – Took my camera to practice, filler video B-
68/100: Harley Wood full band – I play in a cover band sometimes, we played a Prince song. B-
69/100: in the studio – Filler video C-
70/100: No Diggity cover – I love this jam. I didn’t play it super well though. B
71/100: Studio outtakes – This will probably make you laugh a little bit. maybe B+
72/10: Funny Misconceptions – Another video with Paul Haataja! I liked this video a lot more than he did. The editing adds a lot I think! A-
73/100: Lucid original tune – I love this song idea and video idea. Simple as that. A
74/100: Studio tour – Paul filmed for me, it was rushed a little bit and I didn’t have my bass amp and head to show. Prob. could have taken more time on that.. B-
75/100: You had to know (live)- Again, bringing my camera to shows and practice because I didn’t have time to do a legit video. B-
76/100: See day 75.
77/100: Amends music video preview! I think this video did a good job of creating excitement for the release! A-
BEST COVER 1st place- 78/100: Lionhearted cover – I think I sang this one pretty well and the editing is above average for the project. A-
BEST ORIGINAL SONG 3rd place- 79/100: My beard is a boss original – Boom. Loved this little uke tune. One of my better songs in the project. A
80/100: Traffic vlog w/ Paul – Not bad. Good quality I’d say. B+
81/100: Killin time vlog w/ paul – Not our best effort. B-
82/100: Let Down original collab w/ Reid. I liked his tune and put some lyrics to it. i like it :) B+
83/100: Apollo Cobra cover – Brought my camera to practice again… i think it’s one of the best of it’s kind though. B
84/100: NBA vlog – Kind of a filler… It Ron Artest does piss me off though. B
85/100: Walks are good for you vlog – My first walking video that kind of copies Mike Falzone. It’s pretty much a filler video. B
BEST ORIGINAL SONG 2nd place – 86/100: Sleeping in original song – This is perhaps the best 1 or 2 best production quality in the entire project. I’m really proud of this song, lyrics, delivery, and sound quality. It was also written for my lady for our anniversary. So all of that equals a pretty special video to me. A+
BEST ORIGINAL SONG 1st place- 87/100: Amends Official Music Video. Back to back days of A+ stuff. I love everything about this song, the story, the collaboration, Paul’s directing and vision. If you watch one video out of this whole project, please let it be this one. A+
88/100: back to back to back. 3 days in a row of high quality stuff. Amends performance video: A
BEST VLOG 1st place- 89/100: rant vlog – I loved this video too.. easily the best 4 day stretch in the project, and it was interesting how people responded to the ‘threat’ of being unfriended. Maybe the best vlog out of the project. A
90/100: Just clarifying the previous video. B
91/100: Vlog: A bit of a filler video but it’s aiiighht. B
92/100: Joke vid: Filler video, big time. At this point I’m about 2 days behind, which is pretty good considering…B
93/100: Aint no Sunshine cover – I liked this one. It did need percussion though.. bummer I was just strapped for time. A-
94/100: Kickstarter vlog. I like this one too, I was playing with the color and it made it pretty distracting to listen to what I was saying… but the point of these videos is to keep me learning stuff about editing. So because I learned something different and kinda cool. I will give this video a B+
95/100: Sprint phones. DAMN those sprint ports. They suck. Just venting. Still about 2 days behind. But I was determined to do 100 videos in 100 days. B+
96/100: Directors Cut – Amends Music video – Self explanatory, audio was a little weird. B
97/100: Merch video – I like how this turned out. I like the color choice for this video. Buy some stuff! :) B+
98/100: Stems. Coooool! B+
99/100: Reflection video on the project, what would I do differently etc. Decent. B+
100/100: Rate and Review 100 videos! – I like this one. I spent about 2 hours editing it with titles and the thumbnails, and the annotations that you can click on. I think it is an appropriate finale. Check it out and see my favorites! A-

LYRICS:
Capo 9
Em G
Piece of mind
Stay a piece of me
I don’t mind x2
F Piece of mind
Em Wait for me
Not so fast I fear
I won’t last

Em/G Won’t you rip my skin away
tear my bones right out of place
I’d kill myself if I could live with it

G/ Em I couldn’t leave my only friend
I’ll do what I can to make amends

Em/G/A You got a pocket strapped to your belt on your side, made for a six shot
You got a bullet, and a bag of tricks, a shot of jack,
one spin, and one spot.
And you’ve got /\ the nerve to tell me, take it easy
F Piece of mind
Em Wait for me
Not so fast I fear
I won’t last

Lyrics:
You’re sleeping soundly in my love
You’re sleeping soundly in, my love.

You’re making friends and making moves
You’re gonna dance to every groove

If it ain’t broken, you don’t fix
If it don’t belong, then you don’t mix

You’re sleeping soundly
You’re sleeping soundly in my love.
You’re sleeping soundly
You’re sleeping soundly in, my love.

You want to see the world
and be the woman from the girl

When you want to stay inside
You can stay and I won’t mind

You don’t let it weigh on you
In the way that most people do

Cuz you’re sleeping soundly
You’re sleeping soundly in my love.
You’re sleeping soundly
You’re sleeping soundly in, my love.

79/100: “My beard is a boss” An original song about my beard

79/100: I wrote this song because my sister does actually hate my beard and she wanted me to make a video about her. So this is a song directly inspired by her and her hate for my facial hair. :) This is a song written about and to my beard.

help my beard eat: buy a boom town shirt or mp3s at: http://www.davidleducmusic.com

lyrics:
My sister hates you but I’m gonna let you grow anyway
My sister hates but you’ve grown attached and you want to stay

My boss says I’m looking more and more like Cat Stevens
and the very next day now he says I’m looking just like jesus

My aunts telling me that I’m looking like a homeless man
I’ll never get a real job with my hippie hair and lack of plans

My friend hates you but I think that he just don’t understand
I’d love to show him what it’s like to have a beard and a band

When you first started out you were just a little scruffy pup
But you’re older now and a boss with the ladies so that’s what’s up

73/100: Lucid – an original song written in one evening by @davidleduc

LYRICS:
We’re all so fast and stupid
It’s all so massive and lucid
We’re all so filled with excuses
to cover the things we did

How can you be honest
How can you stay sane
How can you navigate
if you can’t see the terrain

Settle down honey there’s always room for thought
You won’t convince the world you’re something you’re not

You’re something you’re not x 2

When you were just a little girl
clashing socks and your natural curls
your momma let you pick your clothes and do you hair
you still don’t care much about what you wear

Lyrics:
Shorty get down, good Lord
Baby got em up open all over town
Strictly biz, she don’t play around
Cover much ground, got game by the pound
Getting paid is a forte
Each and every day, true player way
I can’t get her out of my mind
(what)
I think about the girl all the time

East side to the west side
Pushing phat rides, it’s no surprise
She got tricks in the stash
Stacking up the cash
Fast when it comes to the gas
By no means average
She’s on when she’s got to have it
Baby, you’re a perfect ten, I wanna get in
Can I get down, so I can win

[1] – I like the way you work it
No diggity, I got to bag it up, bag it up
[Repeat 1 (3x)]

She’s got class and style
Street knowledge by the pound,
Baby never act wild
Very low key on the profile
Catching catichin’ villains is a no,
Let me tell you how it goes
Curve’s the words, spins the verbs
Lovers it curves so freak what you heard
Rollin’ with the phatness
You don’t even know what the half is
You gotta pay to play
Just for shorty, bang-bang, to look your way
I like the way you work it
Trumped tight, all day, every day
You’re blowing my mind, maybe in time
Baby, I can get you in my ride

[2] – Hey yo, hey yo, hey yo, hey yo
Hey yo, that girl looks good
